I've had it for a few months. It's been working very well even if it's a bite noisy. I knew I had to be very careful when fixing the blade and o ring to the base but even if doing so, today the O ring got sucked into the jar and shredded. Bad news because I drank some pieces with my smootie before I saw what has happened.Update in 2019: I've been using my Oster Blender without O ring since it shredded in my smoothie. The blender works well and doen't leak. Lucky me.

I bought it as a gift, so i havent really seen how well it works, but right away the person receiving the gift had trouble putting back the lid well and there seemed to be gaps when they managed eventually. After further inspection, I realized no matter which way you put it, the lid fits loose.

Worked fine for 8 months, then started leaking, I thought it was just a crack n the plastic ring around the glass jar, but yesterday I saw SPARKS- inside the blender, as the blades were turning. Really scary. I am throwing it out, and this is after my previous Oster blender DIED after 7 months. I was always an Oster customer, had a great experience with them previously, but the two last ones were TERRIBLE. Money lost, I am switching to Ninja. Truly, a disappointment.

Missing the top piece to cover the blender’s lid. None came in the packaging. Seems good otherwise - unable to get a replacement? Not sure how to get this done.

Pros: 1. It makes excellent smoothies and frozen drinks 2. It doesn't cost as much as a 50" HDTV 3. It is a blender, not a suite of blending technologies. 4. When you hit someone in the temple with the thick glass pitcher, they stay down. They don't get up and stab you a minute later while you are catching your breath.Cons: 1. It is LOUD. An assailant could easily sneak up behind you unheard, keep your head on a swivel and be ready to grab that thick glass pitcher.I can't imagine what a person would do with a blender other than making smoothies and frozen drinks so if you decide to get creative you may or may not be disappointed.Ice cubes, rum, coconut milk, pineapple juice, pause all conversations, press the "Frozen Drink" button, deal with the ROAR, enjoy a silky smooth piña colada with no ice chunks clogging your straw like the drinks Steve made at that one party with a substandard blender.

So I bought this blender about 8 months ago (end of January, writing this now very end of August), and it died today. I'm buying it again, absolutely.See, I make my own pet food, and using fresh bones is considered vital for that, but getting a meat grinder that grinds bones is a bit financially beyond me. (You can get a cheaper model for under $200, but the ones with recommendations are all $300+) I actually got this blender because it's compatible with regular mouth mason jars (good for smoothies on the go!), but when I got my cats two months later, I thought I might as well try.Guys. I make a batch of cat food, grinding 5-6 chicken bones each batch, every week. I've been doing this since March. That's six months - 24 batches of cat food. And make that 25, because it died today, but only AFTER finishing this week's batch. I never actually thought it would last this long when I started using it for grinding bones - I thought, once it didn't die the first time, it'd make it a month, tops. It's been six!And it will take me 7 more of these blenders before I've spent as much as I would on a good grinder - replacing these every six months means that's almost four years away. That's plenty of time to save up to buy a meat grinder, and have something for pet food in the mean time.I love this blender, and I don't think I ever want a different one.(I will note, you have to pace the grinding, because the blender can overheat, and the noise is very loud. But that's it!)

So far I really love this blender. It crushes ice great and my smoothies and shakes come out with no chunks. Apples, bananas, pitted cherries, mango, pears - everything is perfectly pureed with no chunks or clogs. Chopping function is not very usable, it still mostly pureing food rather than chopping in chunks so it can't replace food processor if you want something lik a chunky salsa. Cleaning is easy, assembling and taking apart takes only seconds. Reversing blade technology is a great idea, it really prevents clogs! I remember my sister in law tried to puree some peaches in juice with some cheap blender with no blade reverse and it just kept clogging, with Oster Fusion I just have to push the button and wait a minute, it will do the job. It's very easy to find any spare parts online when I will need them (o-rings, blades...). All metal drive is a big plus. Motor has a lot of power, I use large ice cubes for my shakes (way bigger than standart ones from the fridge dipensers) and Fusion crushes them in seconds. I don't understand why to spend hundreds of dollars on blenders like Ninja or VitaMix unless you really need all these extra cups and attachments. If all you need is to make smoothies, shakes and purees, Oster will do the same great job for $50. And it comes with 3 years warranty for entire blender!

This blender was doing okay, not great but I also didn't pay the price for a great blender so I was fine with that. However, about two weeks after owning the product I made a smoothie, per instructions as I had before, except for this time I found chunks of rubber in the smoothie. Turns out that the seal had somehow slipped and was blended up in my drink. What is confusing is that I secured it before making the drink so I don't even know how it happened. Luckily I was in the one month window and Amazon was great about letting me return it and get a refund. If you want a small blender that can handle small tasks then stick with Hamilton Beach or something like that (I got mine from Target works great for most things that aren't too hard). I ended up getting a Blendtec for my birthday and I must say that if you are wanting a blender then you should try to find a Blendtec or Vitamix...sometimes that have to refurbished ones for a steal. It handles making nut butters, gets my smoothies completely smooth and handles frozen fruit with ease. My Hamilton Beach blender does better than this with ripe fruit smoothies. The Oster blender I order may have been defective or maybe I didn't secure the seal as well as I should have, but either way with these other blenders you don't have to worry about it and they perform the same if not better than this product.

I make frozen smoothies all the time, and a little while back my other blender, which was a KitchenAid, gave up the ghost. The old one could barely handle it - it would often seize, I'd have to go in and scoop things around, it was made of plastic (despite me looking for a glass one), it sucked. This one it great - it easily handled everything I put in with its little pre-programmed smoothie button. No stirring, no seizing, easy rinse-clean. And it's actually glass, like it says. It might be China-toxin glass for all I know, but it's glass at least.

I got this blender to replace a Ninja that I hated because it never got ice chopped up. It arrived yesterday and I ran water through it this morning to just blow out any manufacturer artifacts (dust, dirt, etc.).First thing, it literally shot back 8 inches on the counter when it started up. Scared the crap outta me! Once it came to speed, it didn't keep walking. I'm grateful it didn't shoot forward I guess!Second thing, I had only put in maybe a total of 2 cups of water. It sloshed EVERYWHERE! The lid needs to be seated *just right* for this to have a ghost of a chance of closing properly, and then I noticed that not a single fin on the gasket was actually touching glass. Additionally, I would have to physically push down on the lid to get it flat sealed. Clearly not well designed.I talked to Amazon who suggested I work with Oster to get a replacement lid. I worked with a very nice customer service agent who informed me that they don't have any replacement lids for this product in stock, and they don't know when they will have it. I could return it to them for a replacement in 7-10 business days, or return to Amazon and get a replacement in 2. Not a tough call there. I can't say I'll be giving this another shot which is disappointing.

I have a Kitchen Aid blender and after the last few weeks of blending protein shakes and it barely making due, I decided I needed a better option especially with my love of smoothies in summer close at hand! It arrived quicker than expected from Amazon which made my day so I promptly removed it from the box, washed it and set about making a quick smoothie. I love the smoothie/frozen drink function, it worked great! Later in the evening, I made protein shakes for my husband and I and they turned out smooth and consistently mixed. I was still curious about how well it would work, so I cleaned it real quickly (a cinch to clean by the way) and threw in a handful of ice cubes, I press the ice crush button and it demolished the ice cubes to snow! All I can say is that I am very happy with my new blender and only wish I have made the jump to getting it sooner! A great product at a great price!UPDATE: Best Blender Ever!! Have been making smoothies almost daily and it works like a champ! I brought my blender to my parents' house for a bbq so we could make blended drinks and now everyone wants one. Dumped in the liquid and filled the jar with ice and blended on high, no problems crushing though the ice to make a smooth and consistent blended drink each time. Still love it and highly recommend!
