しかしながら、とても使いにくいです。なかなか割れないし、割れてもグシャッと潰れた状態になります。殻付きマカダミア用に購入を考えられている方は、マカデミアナッツ専用殻割り器 Cracker　の方を選択された方が良いと思います。奇麗に割れますし、狙うポイントが解ったら、楽に割れるようになります。　このスウェーデン製のモノはカッコいいが割りにくいです。

If you're anything like me, the only time you ever really have nuts still in their shells is around Christmas time and if you're like me, you've had enough of cheap (at least in the short term), poorly made nutcrackers that bend, or worse yet, break after only one Christmas' worth of cracking.I'm of the belief that if a product is well designed, well made and there's a good chance it'll last several years if not decades, then it's worth paying what might seem like a large sum if you get what you pay for. Which brings us to the question at hand... If you only use the Drosselmeyer at Christmas, is it still worth the money?Having used it this Christmas, my answer would be YES!The build quality is excellent as far as I can tell. The metal is well finished, there are no sharp enges, burrs or casting marks and it has a reassuring weight... it doesn't feel lighter than it should be to do it's job. The design is ingenious, not only due to the remarkable ease of cracking Hazelnuts, Almonds, Pecans and Walnuts but also the fact that short of sticking your finger into the cone, no matter how you place your palm over the opening of the Drosselmeyer, you cannot pinch your hand in the mechanism. Aside from some unseen fault in the metal, I really can't see any reason why it shouldn't last long enough to justify the price and well beyond that.It's not absolutely perfect though. So let me really nitpick. I have two issues with the Drosselmeyer. First of all, the coloured coating on the interior of the cone of my Drosselmeyer is already scratched. There are a few small scratches from the shells of this Christmas' nuts and a few larger scratches from the spring (that provides a counter force for the handle) rubbing against where it rests inside the body. As long as these scratches don't cause any corrosion of the metal underneath, they aren't an issue for me personally. The second issue that I have is that small fragments of what ever has just been crushed can slip between and even out of the small gap that's created between the cone and the crushing part of the handle when the handle is squeezed. This can result in dropped crumbs and a jammed handle. If the part of the handle that resides in the cone body were thicker and protruded from the cone slightly, there would be no gap and this wouldn't be an issue. It would improve the function but at the cost of form.In all, two very minor issues that make the Drosselmeyer just that tiny bit short of perfect in my eyes. Assuming that it stands the test of time, I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Drosselmeyer (for ~£30) to even occasional crackers like me.

Fantastic nut cracker. We were a bit hesitant at first because of the price, but it was the only product with positive reviews related to hazelnuts, which was our main reason for that purchase, and we do not regret our money.First, it’s a beautifully designed item that feels great in the hand, and looks elegant. Also, it’s very pleasant to use as you just need a gentle press to crack the nuts open which is a big change from more traditional design that you need to press very hard and that might leave your hand a bit sore. My wife has chronic pain going through her hands, and as the main user of this tool she finds it very smooth and easy to issue. Great buy and worth every penny.

You will seriously never need another nutcracker, which is good given how expensive it is but it does crack everything - just drop it in and pull the handle - it really is a simple as that - even brazils and almonds. Naturally, getting the nuts to stay whole depends on how careful you are but at least it works unlike many other nutcrackers that actually don't even crack hard nuts.

I got this for my mum who has had carpal tunnel and even though she's had ops on both hands was looking for something that would allow her to more easily crack open nuts, especially walnuts as we are lucky enough to have a great local supply of walnuts in our village! Mum struggled with this nutcracker and to be honest even when I was using it I found it hard to actually get the balance right of completely pulverizing the walnuts or them not breaking open enough to easily get the walnut out of the shell. A friend has since bought mum a different nutcracker that is far easier and better to use, so this seems to have turned out to be a pricey drawer filler sadly.

I purchased these when I got fed-up with my old crackers pinching my hand and flinging shell debris all around. These are great to use and I can crack nuts in them using just one finger the mechanism is so efficient. it used to take me an age to crack the harvest from my hazel tree but this one meant it was all done in 45 minutes. Seem very robust and are very simple to use. Overall a fantastic product and well worth the price.

Leider schon zum zweiten Mal kaputt! Beim ersten Mal anstandslos ein neues Modell geschickt bekommen.Jetzt ist auch dieses kaputt - gefühlt innerhalb der 2 Jahre Gewährleistung, die ja neu laufen muss, wenn ich einen neuen Artikel bekomme.Aber nun reagiert der Verkäufer nicht mehr auf meine Beanstandung.Ich suche mir nun ein anderes Modell.

This is such a good device making easy work of cracking even very hard nuts such as almonds. With the right pressure and not too much force is required, the nut remains whole or only cut in a few fragments. It’s a joy to eat fresh nuts this way. Highly recommended!

Disappointed. Even though i only use a nutcracker at Christmas time i thought I would invest in an expensive one in the hope that i would be able to crack all nuts open. Not only did it look like it had been used (some sort of oil on the spring and marks on it) i also have a bowl of Almonds left from my bags of mixed nuts that i have hurt my wrist trying to crack open.

These are easily the best nucrackers I've ever owned. Very strong, with a cast iron body.The lever action means it requires less effort to break even those most stubborn of nuts.The price is a bit on the high side, but I've broken a couple of the standard pairs and given the better functionality alongside the durability these are definitely worth it.

I bought this for my father, who is very picky and a perfectionist. He loves it - it is very easy to use, you don't pinch your hands, and it works for all nut sizes.Only downfall is that nut shells sometimes come out the top when cracking nuts - but this is easily solved by putting your hand over the tope when using it.
